Who We Are
In June 2004, a group of Cary
community members took steps to make the brightest stars
within reach for the students of Cary District 26. As a
result of their efforts, the Cary 26 Education Foundation
was formed. This new venture is a non-profit organization
currently governed by Board of Directors and supported by
additional volunteers. The Foundation, which is a separate
entity from the District 26 Board of Education, relies
entirely on generous contributions to support enrichment
programs that are not financed with tax dollars. These
educational enhancements help make our students shine as
they focus on their future.
Our Goals
There are four goals for this
Foundation:
- Promote and support a positive
interaction between District 26 and the community.
- Provide a vehicle for individuals and
organizations to donate resources that will be used to
compliment District 26 educational goals.
- Provide students with opportunities
they would not otherwise be privileged to experience.
- Provide resources to support
innovation and creativity among District 26 educators as
well as unique opportunities for research and
development.
Four non-voting advisory members will come
from the following areas of the District:
- Board of Education
- District Administration
- PTOs
- Teachers
